Can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?

Some examples of the most significant cases and transactions that my team have handled included: (i) issue of Ordinary Bonds of Odinsa for a value of 280,000m pesos with a demand of more than 436,000m pesos in 2020; (ii) debt refinancing through the issue of bonds from the Aburrá Oriente Tunnel Concession, for an amount of 700,000m pesos, which had a demand of more than 1.1 bn pesos in 2021; (iii) bank refinancing of debt in dollars of Concession Pacífico 2, for a value of $260m in 2021; (iv) transnational merger by absorption between the companies Odinsa (absorbing company) and Odinsa Holding. (Absorbed company) 2022; (v) bank refinancing of debt in pesos of Concession Pacífico 2 for a value of 840,000m pesos.

How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?

The pandemic has changed the work of general counsel; we are expected to help and maintain business operation for our organisations. This was particularly emphasised during the pandemic crisis. Having transformed into a more presentive and strategic position, the importance of new technological tools has been emphasised more than ever. Innovative technologies allowed us to hold meetings, assemblies, board meeting, and even trials virtually.
