What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
We have been working for three years on rationalising our portfolio, as we are a group of companies that, when we began this process, consisted of more than 25 companies and significant non-productive real estate assets. As the Legal and M&A head at Sanford, I have overseen the sale of nine non-productive real estate assets, selling six companies and acquiring three companies.
What will be the main focus for the company in the next 12 months and how do you intend to assist with this?
The following 12 months will be crucial since we are now working on selling two companies, which would put us a step closer to our final goal.
If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why?
I would tell them that, to become a business partner, one must always work hand in hand to find viable solutions, so the business thrives.
