What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Recently, I have had legal responsibility for acquiring CargoMaster, making DSV one of the world’s leading freight forwarders of perishable goods, mainly flowers. I have also been responsible for the merger process between Panalpina and DSV Air & Sea in Colombia.

What will be the main focus for the company in the next 12 months and how do you intend to assist with this?

At DSV, we aim to provide and manage supply chain solutions for thousands of companies, and we believe world trade drives world prosperity. My role as counsel is to help the company with its purpose and values and keep supply chains flowing in a world of change. I strive to be valued as an essential business partner and to be recognised as the “first line of defence” where significant business risks exist to manage or avoid. I seek prevention rather than cure.

If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why?

Be aware of your role and how you can add value to any company through quality, human empathy, and personal and professional excellence. Deliver passion, responsibility and constant commitment to your work consistently. Be accountable and always smile.
