What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We have recently participated in transactions aimed at the growth and expansion of the company in Colombia. Among the main ones is the closing of the agreement of the first multifamily project in Colombia. Additionally, we opened two shopping centres — Parque Fabricato in Medellin and Parque Alegra in Barranquilla.

At the same time, we have actively promoted the implementation of technological tools such as electronic signatures and worked on the internal reorganisation of companies.

Finally, even though it has been a year, it is worth mentioning the negotiation of the sale of a minority share to a real estate fund in 2021.

How have you harnessed technology to improve output or drive efficiencies?

With the implementation of projects such as the digital signature, we have been able to offer greater security, speed and, in general, efficiency to the company’s internal processes.

As we enter the next decade, what skills will an in-house lawyer need to succeed in the modern in-house industry?

Lawyers of the coming decade need to have exceptional and outstanding qualifications in technological matters, negotiation strategy and knowledge of their client in a way that, together with emotional intelligence, they can see beyond a contract or a concept. In addition, it is essential that their leadership is inclusive and revolves around sustainability.
