Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
As I see it, innovation does not necessarily imply creating our own development or having a special application for a particular area, innovation can also be the use of tools that have been developed in other areas of the company, that allow us to add value to the services that we provide from the legal department. That is why taking advantage of existing tools and adapting them to our daily tasks, has been the way I have identified as efficient to innovate without incurring in additional expenses.
Can you foresee any key developments to the way general counsel work over the next five years?
For legal teams, the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence will be part of their day-to-day tasks. Through artificial intelligence, we will be able to attend requests that in some way tend to be recurrent in a more efficient way, as well as improve the follow-up and record of requests.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why?
Sustainability, because it is important that on daily basis, we find a way to maintain a balance between our needs and the use of natural resources, as these impact the availability of those resources for the responsible use of future generations.
In our daily work we can do simple things that help us to be more sustainable, for example not printing documents that we can review in another format or not storing information that is not relevant.
