Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
At Pepsico, there are no barriers to creativity; everybody is open to listening, sharing, and working collaboratively. In my sector, there are lot of initiatives focusing on new ways of work that encourage people to use different tools and technology to connect with other teams, and make contracts process faster.
Within the internal legal team at Pepsico, we utilise automatisation tools for simpler tasks, thus leaving us more time to focus on the more hands-on pressing legal tasks.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
Since the launch of Pepsico Positive or Pep+ in 2021, our company has been working to embed our end-to-end transformation into every aspect of PepsiCo’s business – from how ingredients are grown, to how our iconic portfolio of products is made, moved, and sold, to what choices are offered to consumers. Pepsico is aiming to drive meaningful impact around the world to help build a more sustainable future for people, the planet, and our business. Our progress highlights how Pep+ has come to life across our business organised across three pillars: positive agriculture, positive value chain and positive choices.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why?
The encouragement of female talent is my passion, and Pepsico is a company which is also passionate about the empower of women. We have amazing initiatives to work with farmers and communities in order to achieve gender parity in the organisation.
In the past few years, I have had the opportunity to participate in panels to talk about my experience as an executive, and my role as lawyer and a mom. Recently, I participated in a panel for International Women Day, and I talked about women in the Andean region, my professional and personal experience, and my work at Pepsico. It was a pleasure share abut Pep+ and how our agenda looking for a better planet which include, of course, our compromise with women around our organisation and the world.
