How do you approach the management of legal issues during periods of instability or crisis, and how does your legal strategy align with your overall business strategy to ensure organisational resilience?
Legal management during periods of instability or crisis can be a complex challenge for companies and organisations. Therefore, to strengthen the legal team’s approach that focuses on minimising the risks that may be present in the operation of clinics, we have identified and implemented several key strategies to mitigate them and thus protect the legal interests of the entity. Some of them are: Establishing a multidisciplinary crisis management team; Identifying and assessing legal risks; Developing a legal response plan; Keeping informed about legal changes; Communicating effectively; Seeking expert legal advice; Protecting confidential information; Documenting actions and decisions taken; and Learning from experiences.
How does your legal strategy align with the overall business strategy to ensure organisational resilience?
In order to align the legal strategy with the organisation’s strategy, it is essential to define and implement the objectives of the area, its scope, identify the risks and weaknesses to be addressed, establish the challenges that will mitigate them, define work schedules, and finally the tactical indicators that will allow controlling and monitoring compliance and improvement plans. These tactical indicators must be aligned with the indicators defined for the achievement of the company’s strategic direction and thus, from our daily work, participate in the achievement of global results. In this way, all areas will be involved with these objectives.
What emerging technologies do you think will have the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you keep abreast of these developments?
The legal landscape is constantly evolving thanks to the rapid emergence of new technologies. Among the emerging technologies with the greatest potential to impact the legal profession in the near future are: Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is already being used to make repetitive tasks automated; Blockchain establishes a new way to manage, administer and archive legal documents; Big Data can be used to identify legal trends, assess risks and improve decision making.
To keep up with these developments, I use the following strategies: I read legal publications and websites, I attend legal conferences and events, I take available online training courses that teach about the latest legal technologies, I have joined legal associations that offer a variety of resources to keep me up-to-date on the latest legal technologies, such as webinars, discussion groups and email lists, I also follow legal experts on social media who write about the latest legal technologies, which is a great way to stay informed about the latest developments.
In your opinion, what are the main trends that stand out in your country today?
The main trends in the country are oriented to the implementation of the different legal reforms, such as: tax reform, health reform, pension reform. These changes have generated uncertainty and legal insecurity in the different sectors of the economy, as well as slowing down foreign capital investment.
