How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
I’m a firm believer that the role of the legal team is to be and strategic partner of the business team. Our approach is to be involved in the business strategy since it´s conception in order to be able to identify, anticipate and plan for any risks arising from the planned strategy. Regarding unforeseen risks or crises, we try to react fast, identify solutions and they possible outcomes and work closely with the business and financial teams in order to come up with the optimal plan in order to manage the crisis.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
I think AI is having already a tremendous impact in the legal profession, not only in how we practice law, but most importantly in the way that future lawyers are being taught and trained; for example, essays are no longer required due to AI capabilities. Current law students, professors and schools face an immense challenge and the way they tackle it, will forever change our profession. We have been monitoring the AI development and provided lectures for all team members, and we will provide the opportunity for them to have formal education in this matter.
