How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?   

In times of crisis, the management of legal aspects generates an additional challenge of supporting the different business areas, especially the commercial area, to define differentiating products or services according to the needs of clients within the applicable legal framework. 

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?  

Caracol, as part of the PRISA group, is strongly committed to sustainability, integrating this and ESG (social, environmental and governance) criteria into the company’s strategy. Thus, the role of the general counsel is to support the company’s management in the work of raising awareness in the different areas of the company about the importance of fulfilling this commitment and applying the criteria, meeting the goals of the Sustainability Plan. 

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?  

Artificial intelligence is significantly impacting the facilitation of legal and contractual processes, so in this area the legal department plays a fundamental role as validators of the information and criteria used. These technological developments must be understood as work tools to offer a more efficient service without sacrificing the quality of service and attention.
