How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
In times of crisis, honesty is paramount. As General Counsel, I prioritise clear and direct communication with senior management to ensure they understand the risks and potential consequences of each decision. It is crucial not to be complacent but to focus on protecting the interests of the company and its shareholders.
What are the main cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
Recently, I was involved in a credit agreement with Natixis-CEX-DEX for USD 50 million, which was critical for the company’s financial strategy.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the General Counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
Sustainability, particularly in human rights, is a key focus. As General Counsel, I oversee due diligence processes for clients and suppliers, ensuring compliance with human rights standards. I also monitor internal conditions to ensure that the organisation upholds these principles.
How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?
We prioritise diversity through affirmative action in hiring, coupled with ongoing training in both technical and soft skills to ensure effective integration. We also encourage discussions on inequality and explore ways to address it within the team.
