How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
First, organisations need to understand that crises or periods of instability may arise and for that, there must be a business continuity plan to ensure how the organisation will work during those periods and deal with them effectively.
To ensure that, legal and the business must work closely and not only to build a clear strategy but to ensure protecting the organisation to operate in a safe and healthy environment, understanding how to take immediate actions when needed, executing a communication plan, among other tasks that must be clear for management with a clear legal support.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
In my personal opinion, emerging technologies, will reshape the legal profession and is being visible on how legal is focusing on communication, automating routine tasks when providing legal services, for research, among others, and this will increase in the near future, seeing those as “tools” that can provide efficiency to allow lawyers to focus on providing better services.
As legal professionals we must remain knowledgeable, learning which and how those emerging technologies are being applied as lawyers and how we can adjust to those developments.
