Auteco occupies an important place in the history of Colombian automotive production, being the first domestic company to successfully assemble motorbikes in the country, which it first did by producing foreign designs under license in the 1950s. Since then, it has added an impressive list of brands to its assembly lines, including Kawasaki, Bajaj, Kymco and KTM; this allows the company to provide a range of motorbikes to fulfil the numerous requirements of their customers. As a recent example of this, in July 2017 Auteco launched the Bajaj Discover 150ST, marketed as the most powerful version of the Discover motorbike line and now available across Colombia.
