Grupo Aval is Colombia’s largest financial conglomerate, owning significant shares in many of the country’s most important banks and pension fund managers including Banco de Bogotá, Banco de Occidente, Banco Popular and Banco AV Villas, Corficolombiana, and Porvenir. Jorge Adrián Rincón Plata, chief legal counsel, and Ana Maria Castro, legal director, both received praise for the part that they have played in the growth and development of the group as a whole. In June 2017 the team oversaw a considerable bond offering worth approximately US$133m, attracting attention from institutional investors and giving Grupo Aval working capital to continue with its strategic growth plans.
