Nestlé de Colombia
Nestlé entered the Colombian market in 1922, when it introduced its first products to the country through Panama. Since officially opening its first operation in the country in 1944, the company has developed a strong regional presence, commanding a considerable share of Colombia’s food and drinks market. Today an estimated eight out of 10 households in Colombia consume Nestlé products, with brands such as Milo, Nescafé, Maggi and La Lechera being some of the most traditionally recognised and loved products by consumers in the country. Supporting the full scope of the company’s activities in Colombia, Nestlé’s nimble legal team stands out with its remarkable work ethic and commercial focus. Working closely with revenue generating departments, the team has shown solid reliability over the last decade and remarkable adaptability during the recent economic difficulties in South America. Despite facing relative weakness in the local consumer market, Nestlé has outperformed competitors, maintaining its market share and expecting to grow sales by approximately 2% in 2017. The legal team is managed by Phyllis Gleiser, a widely acclaimed, Harvard educated lawyer, who formerly served as the legal manager of Procter & Gamble Colombia.
