What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Our legal team is at the forefront of navigating the fast-evolving regulatory landscape. We play a key role in helping the business adapt to new regimes like NIS2 and prepare for upcoming ESG reporting requirements under CSRD, proactively advising on how to achieve compliance with minimal disruption.
My team recently developed and launched a GDPR compliance portal for our EU entities that automates updates and simplifies processes, leading to a significant increase in transparency and efficiency. By empowering business units across the region to manage their data easily, the portal has freed up valuable time and resources, allowing them to focus on core business activities
What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?
Success as an in-house lawyer in the security industry requires a blend of adaptability, deep industry knowledge and strategic thinking. These qualities enable us to navigate the unique challenges our industry faces, from regulatory compliance to very complex customer solutions, and ensure that our company remains at the cutting edge.
How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?
We have fostered closer collaboration between our legal department and business counterparts through specific strategies and initiatives, like regular inter-departmental meetings and joint projects. In this respect, it is crucial for a legal department to be very close to the operation continuously promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation of legal insights across the business that we serve.
Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?
I am very committed to ensuring our legal team is seen as a strategic business partner, not a roadblock. This is why I am actively championing the use of legal tech to transform how we deliver legal services. By leveraging legal tech, we can streamline processes, improve turnaround times, and ultimately provide more proactive and strategic support to the business, freeing up valuable resources to focus on core activities and creating value for the business.
