What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Transforming the legal and compliance function to a modern and sustainable level as well as implementing our Group legal and compliance strategy in a global cooperation across the world. Going from a Europe based set-up to a global one. One size doesn’t fit all, but we have successfully rolled out the principles across and created a strong awareness and culture to support it. We have built up a commercially robust legal function which I believe is core to the inhouse legal function today. We also support the development of the new ESG reporting which is a major task in front of us all.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

The most import skill is having a strong commercial understanding of the business as well as keeping your knowledge updated on international regulations and demands. Updating yourself and engaging yourself in the sustainability demands and reporting is also essential for the role to succeed.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

My department takes part in the strategy projects across the group as well as ensure that legal is represented on all larger projects. We stay close to the decisions and speak up whenever necessary. Having the trust and support from the top management is essential. We make sure that we are easy to communicate with, pragmatic and give clear and understandable advice.

Leadership – maintaining a strong, dedicated and diverse group of employees as well as ensuring our business is on top of the sustainable development.
