What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

The Whole team has been involved in several transactions. A key one for last year was securing a loan from the European Investment Bank to fund the continuation of the R&D pipeline.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

In-house lawyers must be great collaborators, pragmatists, solution finders and enjoy working with skilled multi-disciplinary teams focusing on patient health. Our organization requires multiple skill sets of highly motivated people that can go the extra mile when needed.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

This is a constant challenge and requires focus from all parties. The legal department provides a service and tries to provide timely pragmatic advice to an organisation that needs to be agile and nimble. We try to spend the time understanding needs and working together to get to a solution.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

Never underestimate the power of a small group of motivated people to effect change. Not really a cause, but it helps in all spheres of life.
