First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently? 

Currently running all legal aspects for a high luxury real estate development that is currently developing 4 million square meters; only in the first phase from permitting, negotiation and execution of purchase sale and construction agreements; in addition to supporting the development and construction of the 20 residences currently under construction.  

Being part of the projects executive team jointly with project president and VP of finance that reports directly to ownership (through the board of directors and the chairman). 

Coordinating and preparing infrastructure projects that are currently in place for future phases of the project from solar farm, cliff repair to connection to Dominican national grid, in additional to the necessary infrastructure of future real estate developments for the rest of the 7 million square meters to be developed. 

Handling all corporate matters related to the 14 entities that are part of the ownership group. Day to day legal support as related to the current operations of 4 restaurants, a golf course and outdoor activities, and overseeing human resources team regarding 400 employees. Lastly, supporting hotel AMANERA in its day-to-day operations. 

How do you stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations in the Dominican Republic relevant to your organisation’s industry? 

Through the active participation of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) legal team, ASONAHORES (Dominican Hotel and Restaurant Association) legal committee and ADETI (Association for Real Estate Tourism Developments) legal committee.  

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why? 

The main cause to which I have a deep personal care for is legal insecurity.
