How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?  

We have defined the purpose of our department align with de strategy of the company and every year we prepare our annual plan to support the areas plans and objectives. As Legal Department we specially support the Company´s program for Business Continuity to provide legal assistance during any crisis or event that can affect operations.  We identify legal risks related to the adoption of new laws and regulation in the country, draw attention of possible impact to the business and recommend self-regulation to minimise impact.  

What are the main cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?  

Our legal team support an important operation to separate passive infrastructure. We participate in the review and comments to new law and regulations related to the telecommunication sector.  

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?  

For our company as part of America Mobile (AMX) , sustainability is at the core of our operations and strategic initiatives. We recognise the importance of responsible business practices in driving long-term value for our shareholders and contributing to the well-being of the communities we serve. Therefore, we are engaging with actions to reduce environmental impact, improve labor management, social development, and corporate governance. For example, during 2023 we increased our renewable energy usage and has pioneered electronic waste management programs, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability and circular economy. Our investments in network infrastructure have brought connectivity solutions closer than ever before, fostering efficient communication between individuals, organisations, and governments. 

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?  

All generative artificial intelligence application will provide tools for legal services that will lower cost and make more efficient the lawyer work. From our point of view , lawyer will have an ally on IA and will concentrate on provide high level services.  

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?  

Our company have principles to develop the potential and honor the dignity of people in a learning environment, where respect, collaboration, good performance, diversity, equality and inclusion are fundamental. We promote the growth of people through challenge, training, guidance, and empowerment in decision making.
