How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience? 

As an in-house counsel, the best approach, despite the circumstances, is to be a business partner. This means accompanying the business and building together an end-to-end strategy, mitigating the risks and providing secure alternatives to ensure business continuity without legal disruption, with the highest standards of business integrity. Through my experience with different leaderships, countries, and ways of working, the business seeks to have a key player partner to seek solutions instead of blocking opportunities.  

Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege to support the business within the region in a variety of crucial E2E transactions and initiatives. These include the closure of a manufacturing plant and union negotiation, management of a public entity, local implementation of global M&A initiatives, business disposals, distributor negotiations, brand protection initiatives, and more. Each of these experiences has been a significant stepping stone in my career, reinforcing my commitment to supporting the business.  

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?  

Referring to emerging technologies, as a Legal Counsel Manager and Data Privacy Officer, I can see how Artificial Intelligence transformation is present in the different processes within the legal profession, allowing an agile way of working, especially in the Contracts area. In other areas, this type of technology is always in constant use; as business partners, we must keep track of the changes. 

When it comes to trends in DR, I believe that digital transformation is reshaping the way businesses operate, across all industries. Therefore, ensuring compliance with Data Privacy regulations is non-negotiable in today’s business landscape. Sustainable initiatives are also gaining traction across different industries. As a legal professional, I’m thrilled to be part of a company that is not just embracing digital transformation but also leading the path of sustainable business. This is an exciting time to be in the legal profession.
