How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
First, always counting on the support of my team. When you have the responsibility of dealing with the legal aspects of big corporations, such as this one, understanding that you can’t do it alone, and that you must rely on your team, is a crucial part of the success of a good general counsel.
Is our responsibility as in house counsels to maintain a general vision align with the business strategy of our organisation, because despite our duty to take care of the legal aspects that arise in periods of crisis, the goal is always to preserve the core business and the commercial aspects of it all.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
I think that, as is trending all around, Artificial Intelligence will have a very significant impact on the legal profession because what took hours of investigation in the past may be solved with just a few clicks now. I do believe that AI can be a helpful tool, if used accordingly. Of course, a profession as old as ours could never be replaced by technology, bearing in mind that one of the main aspects of law is the human aspect in the decision-making process, but it sure can help.
I stay updated by keeping up with the latest news and developments, especially by being exposed to the new technologies.
