ENS, together with The Legal 500, hosted the inaugural GC Powerlist: East Africa Awards at Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday, 14 August 2024.
The event celebrated over 130 East African general counsel for their notable contributions to the legal community, handpicked by The Legal 500’s rigorous selection process.
In attendance were the GC Powerlisters, along with ENS Executives from our offices across Africa, led by ENS CE, Mzi Mgudlwa and our East African Office Heads.

On August 14th in Nairobi at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Legal 500 and ENS Africa hosted the launch reception for the GC Powerlist East Africa 2024! The event brought together recognized senior in-house counsel from across East Africa to celebrate this prestigious occasion. The evening began with congratulatory remarks from The Legal 500’s Research Editor, Melissa Yebisi.
Representing ENS Africa, Desiree Kamanzi, Office Head for Rwanda, welcomed all Powerlisters and congratulated them on their outstanding achievements. The highlight of the evening was an inspiring speech by Nadida Rowlands, General Counsel of Diageo, who addressed her peers with a rousing message. The celebration continued with the presentation of certificates, photos, and networking opportunities.
