About

Gloria aims to serve, grow her potential and empower others. She is a business and corporate lawyer and a certified John Maxwell Leadership team coach. With a combined professional experience of 18 years, she has learned and understood the power of having life skills in addition to technical and academic skills. She is currently the company secretary and general counsel of the Development Bank of Rwanda. A bank whose mandate is to drive and support the development of Rwanda. She serves as a member on the bank’s executive committee (EXCO); management investment and credit committee (MICC); portfolio review; risk steering committee; IT steering committee; recovery committee; and is the chair of both the disciplinary committee and staff loan committee. She worked with AB Bank Rwanda where she served in two positions, first as the company secretary and head of the legal department, and later as the head of risk and compliance. Prior to joining AB Bank, she worked with Rwandair as legal counsel. She holds a degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Rwanda and a Master’s (LLM) degree in Business, Corporate and Maritime law from Erasmus University, Rotterdam. She is the current Chair of the East African Law Society (EALS) Inhouse Counsel Committee. A committee in which she supports the secretariat’s work of developing East Africa’s in-house counsel’s professional capacity. She is a co-founding member of Ubumuntu Arts Organisation an organisation aimed at casting a light on issues affecting humanity through the performing arts and other forms of artistic expression.
