John Nambale is an accomplished lawyer with over 16 years of expertise in corporate and commercial transactions within the banking and financial sectors. Currently leading the commercial transactions team, John specialises in corporate governance, restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions. He is a Makerere University Kampala graduate with an honours bachelor’s degree in law and a Diploma in Legal Practice, qualified to practice in all Ugandan courts. 

John has managed high-profile transactions, including the transformation of a major Ugandan microfinance institution into a tier II Credit Institution. His work has notably saved companies’ substantial sums in tax disputes and supported the development of corporate governance structures. He has also served as legal secretary for the Uganda Bankers Association, contributing to policy and legal development. 

With extensive in-house experience at banks such as Equity Bank Uganda and Exim Bank Uganda, John has successfully led debt recovery efforts, recovering over $50m and aiding struggling businesses. His commitment to legal excellence is evident through his memberships in the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
