Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs | ATC Uganda
Mark is the head of legal and regulatory affairs at ATC Uganda and doubles as the company secretary. In his role, he is tasked with offering sound legal advice to the company, drafting and negotiating many commercial agreements, developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders, risk management and regulatory compliance. Mark is also in charge of the public affairs and security sections of the company.
Prior to joining ATC in 2018, Mark worked as an associate in the corporate advisory team of MMAKS Advocates, one of Uganda’s leading law firms, where he began his legal career.
Mark has previously been on secondments to Anjarwalla & Khanna in Nairobi, one of Africa’s top law firms, as well as to Slaughter and May in London. Mark has also served as a member of the in-house Lawyers Committee of the Uganda Law Society.
Mark holds a master’s degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, a Post Graduate Diploma in Revenue and Tax Administration from the East Africa School of Taxation and a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University. Mark is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and has over ten years’ experience as a legal practitioner.
