What are the most significant cases and transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

In 2022, I was appointed the Country Integration Manager to spearhead the acquisition transaction in which Allianz Africa became the majority shareholder in Jubilee Allianz Uganda, a transaction worth USD 100 million.

In 2023, I was appointed Second Chair to oversee, alongside the CEO, the successful integration of the Sanlam Allianz Joint Venture in Uganda.

I successfully restructured the general insurance company and established a stand-alone medical insurance company, the first of its kind in Uganda.

I am currently serving on the Legal Affairs Committee for the Uganda Insurers Association.

Which recent political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted your work the most in the past year?

There has been a significant shift by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda from compliance-based supervision to risk-based supervision, which has greatly expanded the landscape of insurance law.

Are there any causes, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

I am passionate about corporate governance, corporate law practice, and mergers and acquisitions.
