Ruth Mabele is a seasoned legal professional with over a decade of experience in corporate law. Beginning her career as a litigator for five years in Sisule, Munyi Kilonzo Advocates in Nairobi, Ruth transitioned into roles as legal counsel and general counsel under Gulf Energy Limited and its affiliates.  

Ruth currently serves as the general counsel for Rubis East Africa, and being part of General Management is responsible for offering strategic legal leadership in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Burundi.   

In her role as general counsel, Ruth oversees a broad spectrum of legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, multimillion-dollar litigations, and high-stakes transactions. Her strategic approach ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigates legal risks, consistently securing successful outcomes for Rubis in East Africa.  

With a current specialisation in managing diverse portfolios of complex legal issues, she demonstrates exceptional expertise in navigating intricate multijurisdictional legal landscapes to achieve business objectives on a day-to-day basis.   

Beyond her professional achievements, Ruth is deeply committed to fostering legal excellence. She has contributed to the in-house discourse as a member of the Law Society of Kenya’s In-house Counsel Committee.
