Wambui is a seasoned commercial legal adviser with over 25 years of experience, offering strategic and creative counsel across legal, compliance, risk, governance, commercial, and corporate advisory roles. Wambui has been involved in some of Africa’s largest and most complex transactions and corporate restructurings.

Throughout her career, she has held senior executive positions at major global companies, law practices, and financial institutions, including serving as general counsel and chief legal and governance officer for Africa at Prudential, group legal director at Diageo’s East Africa subsidiaries, director of corporate finance at CfC Bank, and senior regional manager in the M&A and investment banking division at Standard Bank.

Wambui holds an LLB from Cardiff University and an MBA from Strathmore/IESE Business School. Additionally, they are a graduate of the SBS Women Directors Leadership Program.

Recognized for her leadership, Wambui is a graduate of the Diageo Leadership Performance Program, was voted The Most Inspirational Senior Woman Executive Leader at EABL, and was nominated by Legal 500 as one of the Most Influential Lawyers in the Business Sector. They have also been featured in the general counsel Powerlist for Africa in 2017 and East Africa in 2024.
