Yvette Dzakpasu co-heads the legal function at GuarantCo, a private Infrastructure Development Group company, that offers local currency credit solutions for infrastructure financing in countries across Africa and Asia. 

With over 15 years of in-house and private practice experience, she is recognised for her risk-aware but pragmatic approach to novel transactions in emerging markets. She has worked on several deals at GuarantCo, including the XOF 14.2 billion ($23.8m) liquidity extension guarantee to finance the construction of a 65MW combined cycle thermal plant providing electricity to nearly 20 percent of the population in Togo. She also supported on the TZS 116 billion ($50m) five-year portfolio guarantee GuarantCo provided to CRDB Bank, the largest bank in Tanzania, to enable the bank to grow its infrastructure loan book. 

Before joining GuarantCo, Yvette held roles as in-house counsel at an international bank and consultant for a number of non-governmental organisations focusing on development. Before that, she worked in the banking and finance team at Clifford Chance advising on investment grade and leveraged transactions, and restructurings.
