Career biography

A licensed attorney of the courts of the Republic of Ecuador, graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, with 18 years of experience in the insurance industry. Since 2012, she has served as General Counsel of Zurich Seguros Ecuador S.A.

She is the President of the Ecuadorian-Swiss Chamber of Industries, Commerce, and Services and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ecuadorian-British Chamber. Additionally, she leads the Association of Insurance Companies of Ecuador (ACOSE) and the Ecuadorian Federation of Insurance Companies (FEDESEG). She is also part of the 30%+ Club Ecuador’s “Women on Boards” initiative, which recognises 40 top executives.

An esteemed professor at the Institute of Banking and Financial Practices (IPBF), she has been featured in the GC Powerlist Ecuador (The Legal 500) for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023). She has actively participated as a speaker, panelist, and moderator in numerous conferences, workshops, and forums on insurance, compliance, reputational risk, personal data protection, and female empowerment. Notable events include Insurance Talks: The Importance of Corporate Compliance, Insurance Summit: Market Conduct and Self-Regulation, Responsible Communication: Business Humanisation in the Digital Era, Anti-Fraud: Synergy in Effective Fraud Risk Management in Ecuador, Women in Law, and The Role of Women in Economic Reactivation, among others.

Her key areas of interest extend to ethics and transparency, diversity and inclusion, disability advocacy, mentoring for women’s empowerment, and sustainability.
