Focus on: My career

I currently serves as the legal director for the Concessions and International Projects Department of Grupo Aldesa’s legal division. I have been working on projects in Latin America for more than 15 years, and at present I am working on projects in Uruguay, Chile, and Colombia. Additionally, I have recently been involved in project bids for Paraguay and Puerto Rico. Grupo Aldesa also has very important affiliates in Mexico and Peru, where I collaborate with the in-house counsel who oversee those jurisdictions.

I have actively taken part in all project stages, encompassing the bidding process, entering the PPP contract, and reaching financial closure for an infrastructure PPP project in Uruguay – the project is now in the construction phase. This project required negotiations and agreements concerning project and financial contracts, guarantees, and the establishment of multiple special purpose vehicles. Furthermore, my team and I collaboratively negotiated shareholder agreements with local partners, working closely with local counsel and international law firms.

Grupo Aldesa is actively operating other concessions, such as those in Chile. Furthermore, the company is engaged in renewable energy projects in Chile, Mexico, and Colombia, as well as real estate projects in Peru and Mexico, among various other initiatives.

The company intends to remain in Latin America and to continue its investments in these countries. To provide guidance to our various business areas, I collaborate daily with top-tier law firms in the aforementioned jurisdictions. In the past, I have also had the opportunity of working in other Latin American nations, including Argentina, Bolivia, and Venezuela, and I maintain strong relationships with the law firms I have engaged with. These connections are invaluable for a Spanish in-house lawyer like me.
