Could you please share the most significant cases or transactions in the LATAM region that you or your legal team have recently been involved in?

Over the past 12 months, our team has been actively involved in several complex cases across various LATAM jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Mexico, Brazil and Central America. We have handled difficult international trade, competition law, regulatory, IP and contractual matters in these jurisdictions, all while navigating the local nuances that each of these countries presents. These deals have required not only technical legal knowledge but also a deep understanding of local business cultures and regulatory landscapes, which we have fostered through regular contact and direct engagement with our LATAM affiliates.

What strategies do you employ to ensure your legal advice is effectively aligned with the unique regulatory environments and cultural nuances of different LATAM countries

Cultural and regulatory diversity across the LATAM region is one of the biggest challenges we face. Our approach is to build relationships and trust through continuous engagement with local teams and external counsel. This often involves regular travel to the countries we work with to develop a first-hand understanding of the specific regulatory environments and to embed ourselves in the local business culture. Additionally, we have instituted secondment opportunities where members of our legal team spend time working directly in our LATAM affiliates, giving them deeper insight into the local markets. This cultural immersion, coupled with selecting the best external counsel in each jurisdiction, ensures that our legal advice is not only compliant with local regulations but also aligned with the specific business needs and cultural dynamics of each country.

What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

Insud is consistently very active in the LATAM region, which remains a key growth area for our organisation. Over the next 12 months, we have ambitious plans for expansion and consolidation across the region. As part of this, we are undergoing a significant transformation within our legal department through our Insud Legal TX project. This initiative is designed to enhance the way we work and deliver more value to the business. In LATAM, we are specifically re-evaluating how we provide legal support, including reassessing our relationships with local law firms to ensure we are working with the best partners. This period of change is an exciting one for us, and we are confident that it will result in even more effective support for our business operations in the region.
