What strategies do you employ to ensure your legal advice is effectively aligned with the unique regulatory environments and cultural nuances of different LATAM countries?

Being updated with emerging trends and new regulations is key to managing the different countries. In this sense, it is imperative to work to develop legal guidelines concerning the new regulations and make sure that our offerings are aligned with the local legal and compliance aspects. Always work on the standardisation of our team activities. Keep track to permanently identify the industry and regulatory changes and the associated legal challenges and generate solutions that empower growth. Ensure you create opportunities to strengthen our relationship with key partners and customers’ legal counterparts and develop intimacy in each country you act in; last, always participate in industry forums, working groups, and professional associations.

What specific challenges have you encountered when managing legal issues related to Latin American markets from a European perspective, and how has your team addressed these challenges?

Working in legal topics in several countries, I have learned that a situation or an issue will always have an outcome, and regardless of the result, be prepared to act primarily when the result is not what you were expecting. Also, be as transparent as possible, share the issue in a timely manner, and always have a backup plan. In addition, as an in-house lawyer and leading a team in Latin America, my main objective is to drive the team to be recognised as an active contributor in accelerating our group’s growth, performance, and competitiveness while ensuring its compliance with laws and protecting its best legal and business interests at all times, helping to drive our corporation’s business to even greater success.
