What are the projects that you are most proud of working on over the past 12 months?
I have just recently changed company but in my previous company, Purmo Group Plc, I am most proud of the public tender offer process during Q1-Q3 of 2024, where Purmo was the target, and also our long lasting efforts to exit Russia, which was finally achieved in 2024.
How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
A practical approach, early participation, and teamwork, using external advisors when own resources are not enough, and “stepping down from ivory tower” and a “hands on” attitude.
What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
Innovative, business minded, cross-functional, agile and inspired.
What are the key things you prioritise to get the most out of your team?
Transparency and information sharing, teamwork, having a good work ethic, respecting values and showing example. These things enable teams to contribute and self-develop.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
How ESG reporting and due diligence is done in different EU countries, market conditions, the use of AI and data/cybersecurity.
