Founded over 150 years ago Société Générale is one of Europe’s biggest financial services companies. After twenty years of impressing the firm through a wide range of legal contributions, Dominique Bourrinet was promoted to the position of group general counsel in January 2014. As part of being responsible for Société Générale’s legal risk management, documentation and policy, Bourrinet supervises and coordinates the Group’s legal department of around 1,100 in-house lawyers divided into four regions: Western Europe, Eastern Europe-Middle-East-Africa, Americas and Asia-Pacific. He is highly regarded among France’s corporate counsel for his legal knowledge and experience in the financial sector, having worked on a multitude of landmark projects over the course of his career. His previous career highlights include spells with Parisian law firm Brizay London, consulting and training firm CEGOS and BNP Paribas Group’s euro credit department.
