During his five-year tenure as a legal director and chief compliance officer at Clear Channel – one of the world’s largest outdoor advertising companies. Patrick Remot has successfully transformed the legal function, achieving a change in the way the business deals with its suppliers and partners. Utilising his ‘curiosity and genuine interest for new technologies’, Remot has successfully forged a legal function, which in his view is now an ‘actor of the tech-fuelled transformation of the company’ and ‘brings innovation in the way the team works and interacts with internal and external partners’.

Among his numerous litigation victories at the company, Remot notes two distinct wins before the Conseil d’État in two separate litigations about a public tender. ‘We have worked diligently with my team against a great competitor and the most important city in France’, he states. ‘It was a very strong battle, but our cohesiveness as a legal team has made the difference’. Other important cases during Remot’s career at Clear Channel France include numerous transactions with leading retailers, shopping centre operators and cities to install digital billboards. Among these Remot mentions one particular case with great significance to his employer: ‘It was a very hard negotiation about one of the most important contracts for my company with a very big retailer’, he recalls.

‘It taught me the art of negotiation, as well as to be patient and enduring, and to stay optimistic even if the situation seems very difficult’. Prior to joining Clear Channel France, Remot spent a number of years in various positions at Bouygues Telecom.
