Team size: 45
Can you tell us a little about your significant accomplishments over the last few years, as a team or by yourself?
There is no one that would stand out, rather, the general quality of the work of the legal department and the respect that it commands at Valeo is something that we are very proud of. We are a small legal team relative to the size of the company (110,000 employees, close to €20bn revenue), but have a major input in some of the difficult matters that the various business groups are faced with. With respect to governance matters, and listed company requirements, Valeo is best in class in France.
What do you predict will be the biggest change to the legal market in France, in the next few years?
On the governance front, ESG regulation is fast-evolving and will continue to have a major impact on the group. Furthermore, European regulation is changing the French regulatory landscape. Moreover, the business world is becoming increasingly litigious, and this trend will continue.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
In this day and age, maintaining political stability and democracy is becoming increasingly important, to safeguard an environment which is conducive to collective and personal growth and a thriving business environment. We should not underestimate the threat to democracy in some parts of the world where it has been in the past taken for granted.
