What are the most significant cases and/or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

There have been several notable transactions that the legal team has been involved in the past year. One of the most significant matters has been in relation to our operations in Venezuela. We negotiated and signed a suite of contracts with PdVSA (Venezuelan national oil company) at the end of 2023 and have been implementing those contracts in 2024. The situation has been complicated by the US sanctions position regarding Venezuela and the geo-political situation, since the elections held in July 2024.

M&P managed to obtain a specific license from the US authorities (OFAC) to continue its operations in country and it has been a busy time for the team as we seek to navigate the current instability whilst continuing our operation in country.
