Dr Alexander Gommlich leads the legal department of Deutsche Bahn, a German railway company formed by a private joint stock company with the Federal Republic of Germany being its single shareholder. As a successor of the long-term and respected general counsel Marianne Motherby, Dr Gommlich has overseen a continuation of high-calibre legal services with his outstanding commitment to all areas of antitrust proceedings and regulations. Dr Gommlich heads the passenger, transport and purchasing department, establishing himself as a well-recognised lawyer across the country, able to handle a plethora of in-depth matters related to railway infrastructure projects. Dr Gommlich has also recently assisted with the scheme involving the major European railways closing ranks and improving cooperation between rail freight operators in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France.
