Italian-headquartered bank UniCredit has a worldwide presence, and in Germany provides several types of financial services spanning consumer and SME banking, corporate and investment banking, private banking and leasing through its various subsidiaries in the country. Dr Andreas Früh is the executive vice president and head of legal, corporate affairs for HypoVereinsbank (HVB), the largest of these subsidiaries, and is known within the market for his superb legal support and corporate focused counsel. Instrumental in the large undertaking of HVB’s restructuring efforts, Dr Früh is commended for his efforts during the split of the bank’s legal and compliance teams, which were previously held under the same business unit. These efforts required talks with parties concerning the separation and were conducted in a successful way thanks in no small part to the contribution of HVB’s most senior lawyer.
