Marcus Stüting
Group general counsel | FTI Touristik
Appointed to the role of group general counsel of FTI Touristik in October 2016, Marcus Stüting has developed a reputation for excellence across a range of legal practice areas and jurisdictions. He is a strategic partner helping his internal clients find creative legal solutions in an international services industry facing challenges. FTI Touristik is the parent company of German travel organisation FTI Group, which has a worldwide presence through approximately 90 subsidiaries and is the fourth largest tour operator in Europe. Posting a sales figure of €2.75bn and employing around 7,000 people, the company has significant assets to protect and mitigate from legal risk amidst the background of a market sector that is cross-border, complex and changing. Stüting challenges external counsel to be creative but cognizant of the costs of litigation. Prior to joining FTI Tourstik, Stüting was senior vice-president and general counsel of MBG International Premium Brands. Keen to further advance his contribution to the profession, after the research period concluded, he accepted a role as an assistant professor at Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft in Paderborn.
