From his base in Cologne, where Ford of Europe is headquartered, John F. Harris is in charge of the management and execution of all matters related to legal, compliance and audit for Ford Motor Company in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Harris has been dispensing legal advice within the Ford organisation since 1989, undertaking several positions in this time including as the assistant general counsel for distribution, purchasing and corporate transactions in Ford’s Michigan office, a role he held for 10 years. Across his experience at Ford, Harris has achieved several accomplishments; for example the successful provision of legal advice on a range of general sales, marketing, distribution and advertising matters for all of Ford’s owned brands, corporate transactions including M&As, divestitures, bankruptcy, real estate and purchasing matters plus competition law. An extremely highly regarded manager of people, he currently oversees a team of 35 staff including qualified lawyers, legal assistants and other legal professionals.
