How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?

The pandemic greatly impacted the world of work for in-house counsel concerning mobile working, flexibility and, most of all, resilience to all kinds of change. Our way of working has changed as we have learned how to use digital tools and platforms and adapted our internal processes to the ‘new normal’. General counsel gained experience in leading remote teams and, even if not in the office, were still on top of ongoing legal topics.

How much influence do you, as a general counsel, have on the diversity and inclusion policies of your organisation?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is not only very close to my heart but, in fact, one of my main priorities within Teva. We have launched many programmes and activities, and I am one of the sponsors of the German Women’s Network. As female leaders, we are, in any case, responsible for supporting young female talents, helping them grow and develop, and doing our best to make sure that women and also diverse groups have a seat at the table
