What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Some of the most significant cases and transactions that my legal team has recently been involved in comprehend the sale of Bayer’s Environnmental Science Business; US mass tort litigations, in particular Roundup-Glyphosate; and the re-designing of global operating model of the department with efficiency gains.
How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?
Processes, standardisation, automation, and digital working have become much more relevant. At the same time new ways of team-working had to be defined to remain high functioning; some of these now have to be translated into the new normal hybrid setting. As a general counsel, much more effort was needed to keep developing the function, the teams and the people, by sustaining connectivity.
How much influence do you, as a general counsel, have on the diversity and inclusions policies of your organisation?
It is my task to drive diversity and inclusion in my function; I am primarily responsible.
