Gordon Weber is the executive vice president legal services and chief compliance officer at Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics company. He can draw on a legal career that spans approximately three decades working in the US., France and Germany in a variety of in-house roles. These include an 11-year stint as European and senior counsel corporate for Texas Instrument. where he was the lead counsel for the company’s thriving Wireless Communication Business Unit.

He subsequently joined Carl Zeiss Foundation where he played a pivotal role in the restructuring of the Foundation and the incorporation of Carl Zeiss and SCHOTT Glass into separate corporations and subsequently served as general counsel and chief compliance officer for international manufacturing glass manufacturers Schott. Since joining in 2014 Deutsche Post DHL Group, he has been steadily addressing the increasing legal and regulatory complexity faced by a multi-national logistics service provider with nearly 600,000 employees worldwide operating in more than 220 countries with the help of a well-positioned and globally networked team of lawyers and compliance specialists. In addition, he has a special focus on digitalisation and new legal support delivery processes as well as groupwide compliance management systems for risk areas such as data protection, export controls and sanctions.  In the area of M&A, his team has been involved in challenging transactions; most recently, Weber and his team were instrumental in the DPDHL Group’s “fast track” USD$ 1.77 billion acquisition of a globally operating beer, wine and spirits logistics service provider.
