What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Most recently, our legal team has been involved in multiple cases and transactions. We have attempted the purchase of BerlinHyp, and actively participated in multiple M&A activities. Additionally, we supported all sustainable lending activities of the bank, and took part in various Schuldschien transactions.

How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?

Absolutely. Just like it happened for all other departments within the company, remote work combined with meaningful on-site work has become the new normal.

How much influence do you, as a general counsel, have on the diversity and inclusions policies of your organisation?

Besides leading the legal department, I am head of HR as well, hence these topics are core issues of my agenda and I also believe that they should not be seen as legal matters. We want to create a diverse and inclusive working environment because we believe this is better for our teams and leads to better results for the company as well.
