In volatile periods, my approach centres around transforming the legal function into a strategic enabler for the business. At Sitecore, we are in the process of implemented an AI-driven Legal Connect that helps automate and standardised inquiries from the field, allowing our legal team to operate more efficiently and respond quickly to changing market dynamics. I passionately believe that Legal should act as a ‘horizon scanner’—anticipating potential issues and preparing the business to navigate them while ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. Aligning legal strategy with business strategy is essential for resilience.

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?

We mainly focused on scaling our legal processes and operations to support business growth and efficiency – our Legal Hub allowed us to streamline the contracting process, enabling quicker deal closures and enhancing our agility in a competitive market. We also were busy consolidating recent acquisitions.

< strong> How do you measure the impact of ESG initiatives on the company’s overall performance and reputation?

I firmly believe ESG is vital to a company’s long-term success and attractiveness as an Employer. From a legal perspective, ensuring compliance with relevant ESG regulations is also critical, but it’s just as essential to go beyond compliance and establish meaningful impact. We track metrics such as reductions in environmental impact, employee satisfaction scores in diversity and inclusion efforts, and governance transparency levels. Reputation-wise, we monitor stakeholder feedback, including employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and investor sentiment. Integrating ESG into our strategy ultimately strengthens the company’s reputation and builds trust among stakeholders.

How have you integrated technology into your legal processes, and what impact has this had on efficiency and compliance?

True to our aspiration to become the most innovative legal team in the industry, technology has been transformative in optimising legal processes, particularly through the use of AI and automation tools. For example, we developed our Legal Hub inhouse. This scales our ability to provide legal support, handle routine inquiries and standardise responses. The Legal Hub has not only improved efficiency by allowing us to focus on more strategic matters but has also enhanced compliance by reducing human error and ensuring consistency. The impact has been substantial: we’ve been able to speed up the contracting process and close deals faster, making Legal a proactive business enabler. This technology integration has also increased transparency and trust.
