Career Biography

Angela is a seasoned lawyer with over 20 years of distinguished experience in legal practice. She was called to the Ghana Bar on 3rd October 2003 and specializes in petroleum law, regulatory compliance, and human rights. Since 2011, Angela has held various roles at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), where she provides strategic legal counsel on petroleum operations, governance, and compliance, contributing to the advancement of Ghana’s energy sector.

Before joining GNPC, Angela served as a Legal & Compliance Officer at Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited from 2008 to 2011, ensuring the bank’s adherence to regulatory and governance standards. Earlier in her career, she made significant contributions to the protection of human rights and justice as a Legal Officer at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice from 2004 to 2008.

Angela holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Petroleum Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, Scotland, equipping her with specialised expertise in the legal and regulatory frameworks of the energy sector. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts (Law & Political Science) from the University of Ghana and a Barrister-at-Law (BL) Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law.

Her experience and commitment to excellence have established Angela as a key figure in legal and regulatory affairs within Ghana’s oil and gas industry. She is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators and a proud alumna of St. Roses Senior High, Akwatia, Ghana.
