How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
We generally focus on the key risk issues that could impact the achievement of the company’s objectives, and creatively design ways to mitigate those risks while staying focused on achieving the corporate goals. The key strategy is to properly identify and assess the risks, and proactively tackle them.
In your opinion, what are the main trends affecting your work now (these can be legal, political, economic or business-based)?
The current policy instability of the administration, along with the unpredictable inflationary trends and high cost of doing business.
What strategic priorities are guiding your legal team into 2025?
Continuing to provide legal risk management, particularly in mitigating business risks in the highly volatile Nigerian market, with the aim of minimising the impact of inflation on our contracts and projects in the short term.
