Global legal counsel | Tek Experts
What will the main focus of your company be over the next few months and how do you intend to assist with this?
YNV Group is continuously expanding and breaking ground into new business territories while at the same time providing innovative solutions and reaching new boundaries in its existing business lines. Due to the variety of business sectors active within the group through its company brands of Tek Experts, Elev8, Everty, Wize and Monifai, including tech support, digital skilling & education, real estate development, HR technology and financial services the opportunities are vast and the possibilities endless. In the immediate future, YNV Group aims to create more growth opportunities for current and future employees as well as additional product options to partners, customers and clients. Towards achieving this purpose, I aim to provide my full legal support and know-how to facilitate this vision whether it be through contract drafting and reviewing , legal compliance, internal legal advice and opinions or liaising with external parties to provide a smooth, pragmatic and feasible solution or resolution to any business request or concern.
How has the increasing consciousness of climate change and sustainability affected the company and the team’s priorities?
YNV Group environmental sustainability efforts are an on-going concern within the Group and form part of the Group’s DNA and core values. As part of our Giving Back program YNV recently contributed to planting 1,000 trees in diverse locations globally, including the US, Vietnam, and Rwanda. At the same time, internal Group policies encourage digital solutions for carrying out everyday tasks as opposed to using paper and printed materials. The use of
recycling bins around our premises and reusable materials has also instilled a culture within the office of environmental sustainability in an effort to support health and wellbeing.
What do you predict will be the biggest change to the legal market in your region, in the next few years?
Being a global legal counsel in a truly international group of companies with spanning presence across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia makes it difficult to define a ‘region’ which is applicable to me in order to single out a local legal market. Within this global environment the consolidated global legal market has greatly evolved in the past 5 years in light of the various socio-economic changes which have been brought about through global-affecting natural and political events. The rise of remote work has opened the gates to talent and the opportunity for companies to tap into ideal candidates they previously did not have access to. This remote employment environment and the digital/online uprising has disrupted the stale legal market in relation to employability, opportunities and development and has proven to be a mutually beneficial development for both employers and legal talent. The legal market has opened its gates to new border-defying engagements which means that as businesses grow without limitations from geographical boundaries so will the legal market. Technology is here to stay and it is making waves in all sectors of business and the legal market looks to favorably welcome technology as a tool to further its reach, impact and development.
